We Build AI Software
That Actually Ships

Buildaze is a senior development team that turns complex AI and SaaS ideas into production-ready products — without the agency theatre.

Why We Exist

Most agencies we encountered early on were run by salespeople, not builders. Projects went into a black box, a junior team executed the actual work, and clients got demos of things that weren’t quite right — two weeks before the deadline. That gap bothered us enough to do something about it.

We started Buildaze to flip that model. We built a deliberately small team of senior engineers who do the work themselves — no project managers relaying messages, no juniors billed at senior rates. Every decision gets made by someone who will also write the code.

What We Believe
Stances That Shape
How We Build

Ownership beats access.

You should own your codebase completely — every commit, every credential, every deployment pipeline. We hand over full code ownership at the end of every engagement. No proprietary platforms, no lock-in, no leverage over you.

AI in the process, not just the product.

We use AI tooling inside our own development workflow — not as a gimmick, but because it lets us ship production-quality work in timelines that make the estimates feel wrong. When we build AI features for clients, we're drawing on a workflow we use every day, not a stack we learned for the pitch.

Slow discovery kills more projects than bad code.

The first week of any project is the most important. We spend it pulling apart assumptions, not writing boilerplate. A feature built on a wrong assumption costs ten times more to fix than one that was never built.

Small teams ship better software.

We cap every project team at three people. More hands don't mean faster delivery — they mean more meetings and less accountability. Every engineer on your project knows the full codebase, because there's no one else to pass context to.

How We Work
Fixed sprints.
Weekly demos.
Week one is a structured discovery. We get on two or three calls, map out the full scope, identify every assumption that could blow up later, and agree on exactly what gets built in sprint one. You'll have a written spec — not a sales deck — before we write a line of code.

From there, you get a working demo every week. Not a progress report — an actual working build of the agreed features. If something is taking longer than scoped, you hear about it before we miss a deadline, not after.

When something goes wrong — and occasionally something will — we tell you directly, show you what happened in the code, and give you a concrete fix timeline. You're not paying for managed uncertainty; you're paying for a team that owns what it builds.

The Team
Small on Purpose.
Senior by Design.

We're a team of engineers, and we intend to stay small. Scaling headcount to match revenue is the agency playbook — ours is to scale quality, not bodies. Every project at Buildaze is staffed by two to three people, all senior, all with direct client access.

Why Clients Choose Us
The real reasons,
not the
brochure version
Founders come to us when they've outgrown freelancers but aren't ready to hire a full engineering team. We run like an in-house team — same Slack, same sprint cadence, same code review culture — without the recruiting overhead or the six-month ramp time.

Ecommerce brands choose us when they need more than a theme swap — whether that's a headless Shopify storefront in Next.js, a custom AI recommendation layer, or a WooCommerce migration without losing search equity.

Operations teams come to us when they've identified a manual process that costs 20 hours a week and need someone who can both understand the problem and build the solution without hand-holding. We don't need a technical spec. We need you to show us the spreadsheet.

Honest Answers
Who We're
Not Right For

If you need a 50-person delivery team, ISO certifications, and a weekly status deck — we're not a match. Those are real needs; they're just not what we're built for. We also don't take on projects where the decision-maker isn't accessible. Our process requires someone who can approve a direction on a Tuesday afternoon, not a three-week approval chain. If you're looking for the lowest quote, you'll find one. But if you need something built correctly, on time, with a team you can actually talk to — that's the conversation we'd like to have.

For a focused SaaS product or AI feature, a working v1 typically takes 6–10 weeks from end of discovery. We scope conservatively — if we think it’ll take 8 weeks, we tell you 8. Discovery week gives us the data to make that call accurately.
Yes — 100%. You get every repo, every credential, every infrastructure config. We don’t use proprietary tooling or retain access after the engagement ends unless you explicitly ask us to. Your code is yours from day one.
Our default stack is Next.js, Node.js, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL — deployed on AWS or Vercel. For AI work we use OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, LangChain, and Pinecone depending on the use case. For ecommerce, Shopify and Medusa. We pick what’s right for the problem, not what’s most familiar to us.
Email us at team@buildaze.com with a brief description of what you’re building and where you are in the process. We’ll reply within 24 hours. If there’s a fit, we’ll schedule a 30-minute scoping call — no sales deck, just an honest conversation about whether we’re the right team.
